Shubhang Bhalla is a MD/PhD candidate at the Texas Tech Health Science Center and completing a Medical Student Research Fellowship in the UCSF VASC lab. His prior research has focused on using induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) to model neuromuscular disease. He is now leveraging stem cell engineering to help develop new models of the brain’s vasculature to permit accelerated drug discovery. He aspires to become a neurosurgeon. Outside the lab, he enjoys weightlifting, archery, basketball, and spending time with his puppy.
