Santhosh Arul is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the UCSF VASC lab. He completed his PhD in Biotechnology and Biochemistry with a focus on mitochondrial function in cancer progression. He has since acquired additional postdoctoral training in bioengineering with an emphasis on using three-dimensional printing to create cell-based models of the cerebrovasculature to test endovascular treatment and devices. He is now using this expertise in bioengineering to design new stem cell-derived models of the human cerebrovasculature. Outside the lab, he enjoys playing multiple sports, listening to music, riding a motorcycle, and traveling.
