Belda Gülsuyu is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the UCSF VASC Lab. She obtained her medical degree from the Manisa Celal Bayar University School of Medicine. Her prior research focused on establishing in vitro blood-brain barrier models with induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs). She has sought additional training in computational biology and is currently leading efforts with single-cell sequencing to understand cell-specific mechanisms underlying the formation and progression of human vascular malformations. It is her dream to become a cerebrovascular neurosurgeon and scientist. Outside the lab, she enjoys cooking traditional Turkish and Mediterranean foods, photographing nature, and running.
